Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Agostinho Van-Dúnem, learned this Thursday, at “Howard University”, in Washington DC, about the opportunities for collaboration in teaching, scientific research and awarding scholarships to Angolan students.
According to a press release, during the visit the diplomat was received by the teaching and administrative staff of Howard University, including Dean Ben Vinson III, for productive discussions about possible academic partnerships between Howard University and universities in Angola.
The main focus of the conversations was the exploration of collaborations in the field of teaching and scientific research, aiming to strengthen academic ties between Angola and the United States.
Ambassador Agostinho Van-Dúnem expressed Angola’s interest in establishing teacher and student exchange programs, developing joint curricula and carrying out collaborative research projects in areas of mutual interest.
In addition, possible initiatives to award scholarships to Angolan students to study at Howard University were discussed, providing them with quality education opportunities in an internationally recognized academic environment.
On the occasion, Agostinho Van-Dúnem highlighted the importance of academic partnerships for the educational and socioeconomic development of Angola, emphasizing the Angolan government’s commitment to investing in the talent and intellectual capacity of Angolan youth.
Howard University expressed a warm welcome to the proposed collaboration and stated its interest in strengthening academic ties with institutions in Angola.
The parties agreed to continue discussions and explore opportunities identified during the visit.
