Ambassador Augusto Cunha delivers credentials in Azerbaijan

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan diplomat Augusto da Silva Cunha delivered, Tuesday (14th), to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the letters accrediting him as ambassador of non-resident Angola in that country.

The information was disclosed this Wednesday, in a note, by the Institutional Communication and Press Service of the Angolan embassy in Russia.

The document states that following the ceremony, ambassador Augusto da Silva Cunha was received in audience by the Head of State of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, the note continues, the Angolan diplomat highlighted Azerbaijan’s participation in training Angolan staff, particularly in the oil sector.

The ambassador also spoke about the business opportunities and public and private investments existing in the Angolan market, for Azerbaijani businessmen and others.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the need to give new impetus to relations between Angola and Azerbaijan, particularly in the areas of Commerce, Energy, Science and Education.

Azerbaijan holds the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement, an organization of which Angola is a member.

Augusto da Silva Cunha is also Angola’s ambassador to Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. In Russia he is on resident status.
