Africa-Press – Angola. At least 100 Angolans may be repatriated from the United States at any time due to expired stays.
The Angolan ambassador to the United States reaffirmed that the repatriation process is being carried out in phases with the knowledge of the Angolan government.
Agostinho Van-Duném, speaking to Rádio Ecclésia on Tuesday, 01, denounced the existence of foreign citizens with Angolan passports within the group.
Agostinho Van-Duném holds the Migration and Foreigners Services responsible for the vulnerability in obtaining a passport.
The diplomat clarifies that “there is no official announcement from the US authorities regarding the inclusion of Angola on the entry restriction list for that country”.
Agostinho Van-Duném admits, on the other hand, the imminence of these restrictions due to the inclusion of Angola in the diplomatic memorandum that lists 36 countries signed by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, but states, on the other hand, that the Angolan government has been discussing these matters with the American authorities.
However, the spokesperson for the US State Department for Portuguese Language, assured this Tuesday, 01, in an exclusive interview with Rádio Correio da Kianda, that her country does not impose a ban on visas, but rather a limitation on them.
Amanda Robertson said that the limitation is part of the country’s security strategy, reinforcing that the visa process for the US has always been rigorous.
When asked about the process of repatriating illegal immigrants from the US and the possibility of the country creating specific prison services to house them, the State Department Spokesperson for Portuguese Language responded that it is Donald Trump’s priority to ensure the security of the US, curbing illegal immigration.
