Africa-Press – Angola. The National Assembly (AN) condemned this Sunday, in Luanda, the attack in Ankara (Turkey), expressing solidarity support for the Turkish people and parliament.
In a note reacting to the attack that occurred this Sunday, the AN repudiates any and all attacks that put at risk the integrity of the representative democracy of Democratic States and encourages the Turkish people, State institutions, especially the deputies, the continued defense of the institutional order.
“The National Assembly of Angola became aware, with express concern, of the occurrence of an attack, considered terrorist, that occurred in Ankara, next to the headquarters of the Turkish Parliament, on a day scheduled for the opening of another legislative session of the Turkish parliament”, reads the note signed by the president of AN, Carolina Cerqueira.
In the note, Carolina Cerqueira states that the Angolan and Turkish Parliaments maintain fruitful ties of inter-parliamentary cooperation based on good relations of friendship and exchange of experience in favor of consolidating the Democratic Rule of Law and preserving, promoting peace and justice, as well as the stability of strong and democratic institutions.
According to the Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, the issue is a bomb attack, carried out by two “terrorists”.
On social media, Ali Yerlikaya said that the attack was carried out using a booby-trapped vehicle.
According to the information, one of the attackers died in the explosion and the other was “neutralized” by local authorities.
