Africa-Press – Angola. The representation of the National Assembly of Angola at the Pan African Parliament (PAP) took office, this Monday (6th), in Midrand, South Africa, the institution’s headquarters.
The delegation, headed by MPLA MP Manuel Augusto, is also made up of MPs Maria Rosa Escovalo and Arlete Borges (MPLA), Adalberto Costa Júnior and Abel Epalanga Chivukuvuku (UNITA).
Angola is a founding member of the Pan African Parliament and has held the position of first vice-president, in the person of Deputy França Van Dunem.
The PAP, was established by the African Heads of State in 2004, as the Legislative Body of the African Union and comprises five Deputies from each of the fifty-five Member States of the Organization.
This Parliament works in plenary sessions and meetings of the Specialized Committees, in addition to carrying out other missions, such as election observation.
The current session will run until the 17th of the current month.
