Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, met, this Thursday, with the Executive Secretary of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Regions (CIRGL), João Caholo, having reviewed the schedule of statutory meetings of the organization.
Also deserving special attention at the meeting between the head of Angolan diplomacy and the Executive Secretary of CIRGL, was the restructuring of the organization’s Secretariat, a technical support body for the Interministerial Regional Committee.
Cited by a note from the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, João Caholo underlined the need to strengthen Angola’s support in administrative matters.
The CIRGL continues to be a vital mechanism for seeking a solution to conflicts and guaranteeing stability and development in the sub-region, says the document.
In addition to Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, DRC, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and Republic of Congo are part of the regional organization.
