Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan and Israeli businesspeople are to meet on Monday, in Luanda, during an Economic Forum that aims to re-launch exchanges between the two states, especially in the areas of investment and trade.
The event promoted by the Embassy of Israel in Angola with the support of Angolan Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Israel-Angola Chamber of Commerce, will take place under the motto “Strengthening relations between Israel and the Republic of Angola in the Economic Domain”.
In addition to the guests, the event will bring together politicians and members of civil society for a comprehensive assessment of bilateral business opportunities to strengthen the economic relationship and thus accelerate prosperity in the mentioned countries.
According to a statement from the event organizers, on Sunday, representatives from the Angolan ministries of Agriculture, Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Industry and Commerce, Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, among other ministerial departments, they are expected to be present, as well the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Angola and members of cooperatives, industrial associations and individuals.
Diplomatic relations between Angola and Israel began in 1993.
In 1995, the Israeli embassy was opened in Luanda, while in 2000 Angola opened its embassy in Tel Aviv.
Cooperation between the two countries has been developed in several areas, namely in agriculture, health, education, aviation, civil construction, fisheries, diamonds, security and telecommunications, which are intended to be expanded through the Israel-Angola Economic Forum.
The event will take place in the Auditorium of the Military History Museum (São Miguel Fortress), in Luanda capital city, at 9 am, and will be attended by the Israeli Ambassador to Angola, Shimon Solomon, who will preside over the opening ceremony.
