Africa-Press – Angola. The Mauritanian ambassador to Angola, Mohamed Ould Mekhalla, this Tuesday in Luanda expressed interest in the creation of a parliamentary friendship group between the two States.
The wish of the Mauritanian diplomat was expressed to the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, during a meeting at the headquarters of the Angolan Parliament.
Speaking to the press, the diplomat also said that he had discussed with his interlocutor the role of parliamentary and economic diplomacy, as well as the opportunities for partnerships between the two countries, fundamentally in the fisheries and mining sectors.
Mohamed Ould Mekhalla took advantage of the occasion to present greetings from his Mauritanian counterpart to the President of the Angolan Parliament.
He also expressed satisfaction with the imposing building of the Palace of the National Assembly, which, in his view, “this is how the headquarters of public institutions in our African countries should be (…)”.
