Africa-Press – Angola. The Mauritanian deputy in the diaspora, for the African constituency, Ahmedou Bouvecha, expressed this Tuesday, in Luanda, his interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
Representative Ahmedou Bouvecha’s desire was expressed during a working meeting with the third vice-president of the National Assembly, Raúl Lima, which served to address, among other issues, issues relating to the Mauritanian community residing in Angola.
He told the press that aspects related to the strengthening of diplomatic relations in terms of parliamentary diplomacy and between the two states were also on the table.
It should be noted that the deputy in question has lived in Angola for approximately two decades, where he carries out activities in the commerce and industry sectors.
Angola and Mauritania maintain political-diplomatic relations and hope to increase them based on south-south cooperation, in favor of the populations of both countries, especially looking at the current global dynamics.
Angola and Mauritania are also working to reactivate the bilateral Joint Commission, as well as outline strategies for the suppression of visas in diplomatic and service passports.
With more than four million inhabitants and an economy based on mineral production and fishing, Mauritania stands out in the Sahel region for its security and political stability.
