Africa-Press – Angola. Strengthening cooperation in the field of coffee marked the agenda of the meeting, Wednesday, in London, between the Angolan ambassador to the United Kingdom, Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, and the executive director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Vanúsia Walnut.

Ambassador Nunda, who attended the hearing as Angola’s permanent representative at the London-based OIC, defended “an uninterrupted flow” of information between the Angolan Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the permanent representation with the International Coffee Organization.

The permanent exchange of information aims to take advantage of the ICO’s strengths and make investments in coffee viable in Angola, he said.

During the meeting, the technical assistant for the representation of Angola at the OIC, Edmilson Ângelo, was officially presented to the executive director of the institution.

Angola is one of the exporting members of the OIC, the only intergovernmental organization that brings together exporting and importing governments.

Since its creation in 1963 under the auspices of the United Nations, the OIC has consistently committed itself to assisting its members in development, mobilization of funds and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sector development projects with the aim of promote sustainable growth for the benefit of all stakeholders, from coffee growers to consumers.
