Africa-Press – Angola. The performance and prospects of the Angolan economy, as well as the deepening of business relations between Angola and Portugal are the main points that will dominate the first edition of the Economic Forum/2023 of both countries, taking place this Wednesday (day 17), in the city of Porto, in Portugal.
Under the motto “We build solid relationships”, the event essentially aims to make economic cooperation more operational and profound, in an initiative of Banco Caixa Geral Angola, in partnership with the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) and for Private Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX) in Angola.
According to a press release made available this Tuesday, Angola has been making an effort to diversify its economy and Portugal can play a fundamental role in this paradigm shift, especially in small and medium-sized companies.
With this, the note advances, the Economic Forum will also serve to address and explore the various existing sectoral opportunities and the financial instruments available to support investment.
The event will also make it possible to analyze various areas of interest involving the economy between the two countries, with regard to the production of goods and services, namely Agriculture, Manufacturing Industry, Fisheries and Tourism.
The Portugal – Angola Economic Forum will feature three debate panels, with topics such as “Performance and prospects for the Angolan economy”, “Development program and sectoral opportunities”, “Financial instruments to support investment”, in addition to meetings complementary work.
At the event, Angola will be represented by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, João Bartolomeu da Cunha, Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury , Ottoniel dos Santos, and by the chairman of the Board of Directors of AIPEX, Lello Francisco.
On the Portuguese side will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, the Minister of Economy and the Sea, António Costa Silva, and the administrator of AICEP, Luís Rebelo de Sousa.
