Africa-Press – Angola. The republics of Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe hold the Eighth Session of the Bilateral Commission on Monday, during which several legal instruments will be signed with a view to strengthening and expanding cooperation in different areas of common interest.
For this mission, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, who heads the multisectoral delegation from Angola, arrived yesterday in São Tomé and Príncipe, after having participated in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) in the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of African Union on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes of Government in Africa.
Upon arrival, Téte António received a warm welcome from Edite Ramos da Costa Ten Jua, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, in addition to the Reception Committee integrated, among others, by Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes , Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad and the Angolan ambassador to São Tomé and Príncipe, Joaquim Pombo.
To integrate the Angolan multisectoral delegation, João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade”, Minister of National Defense and Homeland Veterans, senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Finance, Transport, Public Works and Spatial Planning, Economy and Planning, Culture, Tourism and Environment, Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Telecommunications, Information and Social Communication Technologies and Agriculture and Fisheries.
Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe formalized cooperation in February 1978, through the General Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation, and the Bilateral Joint Commission, created in January 1980.
