Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and the Philippines signed, this Monday, in Luanda, a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, the first Legal Instrument between the two countries, “which represents a historic milestone in bilateral cooperation”.
The agreement between the two States was signed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Philippines to Angola, Celia Anna Feria.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that this agreement “sets up a mechanism for promoting dialogue between them, focusing on regional and international issues, implementation of agreements under negotiation, as well as the exchange of experience in matters of common interest” .
“In the light of this legal framework, Angola and the Philippines now have the guidelines for the establishment of a roadmap that, in addition to political matters, encompasses issues of the economic scope, with a view to sharing experiences between the Angolan and Filipino business fabrics for the establishment of strategic and mutually advantageous partnerships”, reads the note.
