Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to Zambia, Albino Malungo, met Monday, in Lusaka, with his Zambian counterpart accredited to the country, Elias Munshya, who visited the Angolan diplomatic mission to assess cooperation between the two countries.

According to a note from the Angolan representation in Zambia received, during the meeting, aimed at boosting relations between Angola and Zambia, the need to revitalize existing cooperation agreements was discussed.

The issue of agreements on the deployment of health and education teams for teaching Portuguese at the border between Angola and Zambia was also discussed during the meeting.

The note states that the commitment of both governments to awarding scholarships to interested students from both countries was also acknowledged.

During this meeting, issues related to the legal difficulties faced by Angolan refugees at the border were discussed between Ambassadors Albino Malungo and Elias Munshya.

The note further mentions that the meeting addressed the prospect of opening the Angola-Zambia Chamber of Commerce in 2026 and the resumption of flights connecting Luanda/Johannesburg/Lusaka, which will facilitate trade between the two countries.

The advantages of the Lobito Corridor and the need for fuel and energy supplies from Angola to Zambia were also discussed at the meeting.

Angola and Zambia share approximately 1,110 kilometers.
