Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Zimbabwe are meeting this Monday, in Luanda, to discuss political-diplomatic, economic-business and defense and security issues, within the scope of the II Session of the Bilateral Commission between the two member countries of the southern African region.

According to a press release, the meeting will take place until Tuesday, at a technical level and will prepare the Ministerial Summit, scheduled for Wednesday, the 15th of this month, after 32 years since the last working meeting, in 1992.

When opening the work, the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes, said that the countries have strong historical ties of friendship and brotherhood.

For the diplomat, these ties reflect political, economic, cultural and other cooperation, where common interests have always prevailed.

He said that the leaders of the two States, in their public interventions, have emphasized that political relations between Angola and Zimbabwe are excellent, however, it is urgent to improve economic, commercial and business relations.

This II Session of the Angola-Zimbabwe Bilateral Commission appears to be yet another opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that characterize the assessment of good political and diplomatic relations between countries and peoples, within the spirit of solidarity and African brotherhood.

Angola and Zimbabwe have maintained friendly and political-diplomatic relations for more than four decades.
