Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation led by the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, attended until Wednesday, the World Conference on Cultural Policies (Mondiacult 2025) in Barcelona, Spain, dedicated to defining the sector’s global agenda.

According to a note from the ministerial department on Wednesday, the event kicked off on Monday (Sept 29), and focused on the issues of culture for peace and AI, which reflect the main challenges and opportunities for the future of the cultural sector.

According to the document, with this participation, Angola reinforces its commitment to aligning itself with the global debate, defending the valorization of national identity and the recognition of culture as a driver of sustainable development.

The event, hosted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), brought together representatives from governments, civil society, artists, and academics to discuss cultural priorities for the coming years.

Highlights included cultural rights, digital transformation (DX), the cultural economy, the relationship between culture and education, climate action, and safeguarding heritage in times of crisis.

The national delegation included the ambassadors of Angola to the Kingdom of Spain, Balbina da Silva, the Angolan Delegation to UNESCO, Maria Cândida Teixeira, and senior officials.
