Africa-Press – Angola. The National Team will compete in the African Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, on April 23 and 24, in the Republic of Rwanda.

For this operation, the group is made up of 15 pre-selected high-level sporting candidates, with emphasis on Luana Gomes, Sofia Higino, Elizabeth Manguino, Aicha Morgado and Florença Missende, all with international participation.

According to the technical director of the Angolan Gymnastics Federation, Agostinho Sungo, the group will have two phases of preparation, starting on the 26th in Moçâmedes, Namibe, with a 30-day internship.

The National Team ends pre-competitive training with another ten days of work in Aveiro, Portugal.

African rhythmic gymnastics is competed in the specialties of rope, ribbon, hoop, ball and mace.

Angola was present in the last edition, held in 2023, in Moka, in the Mauritius Islands, in which Luana Gomes won two gold medals and equal numbers of silver and bronze, becoming runner-up in the overall competition.

This event will also qualify for the Olympic Games, taking place this year in Paris (France).
