Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participated in Managua’s International Festival of Arts, Cultures and Gastronomy on Saturday, which is a Nicaraguan event that seeks to promote unity among nations.
A press release, states that the Angolan stand exhibited the best of cuisine, typical drinks, handicrafts, traditional costumes, among other artistic expressions.
According to the note, the Angolan no-resident ambassador to that country, Carlos Cruz Dias, honored the event and highlighted the importance of the event for the exchange of experiences in the field of culture and tourism between nations.
According to the Angolan diplomat, quoted by the document, Angola’s participation in the event has been a unique opportunity for the country to promote its potential and boost economic development and disseminate national culture to different corners of the world.
The International Festival of Arts, Cultures and Gastronomy of the Peoples, which had the participation of more than 40 countries from all continents, consolidates itself every year as a space where the peoples of the world exhibit the best of their culture.
The countries present the typical flavors, ancestral dances, traditional costumes and artistic expressions that reflect the diversity and richness of their roots, acting as a cultural bridge between the continents.
Diplomatic relations between Angola and Nicaragua were established on September 6, 1979.
Nicaragua is famous for its numerous festivals and traditions. Many of the celebrations revolve around the Catholic faith, established during the Spanish colonial period.
Color, food and drink, fireworks, music, traditional dances, horse parades, bullfights, promises and religious ceremonies are all part of these festivals, which can last several days and constitute the essence of Nicaraguan popular culture.
