Betting on the offensive sector without neglecting the defensive sector was (Tuesday), in Luanda, seen as a guarantee for the National Senior Women’s Football Team to fight for victories over their opponents in the COSAFA Cup, which is being played in the province of Gauteng, in South Africa.
Previewing the Angolan team’s participation in the competition, which starts on Wednesday (4) and ends on the 15th, coach Sousa Garcia recognized the competitive difficulties to be encountered, but believes in the players’ effort and determination to seek positive results.
“The team prepared taking into account the level of the opponents we will face. We will act with offensive actions, looking for goals, but without forgetting defensive caution. I know that we will face many competitive difficulties, given the level of the other teams and we will be focused on good representation,” he said.
Speaking before the team’s trip to South Africa, the coach added that there is great commitment and engagement from the players, who will do everything to fight for victories and dignify the country.
In the tournament, Angola is in Group B, alongside Zambia, current holder of the trophy, Mozambique and Comoros.
On the opening day, the Angolans will play, at 11 am, against the Comoros, in the province of Gauteng.
In the same venue, at 2:30 pm, Zambia will face Mozambique, in a game to conclude the first round of Group B.
The National Team is made up of players Rita (4 de Junho FC do Huambo), Odilia (Amigas do Porto da Huíla), goalkeepers. The defenses Ketcha, Dorcassia, Vanuza (1st of August), Ary Papel (4th of June FC from Huambo), Nela (Terra Nova FC) and Neuma (Tchapesseca FC from Huambo).
Included are the middles Marlene, Ana, Sara and Margarete (1o de Agosto), Chiquita, Márcia (Terra Nova FC), Guilhermina (Estrela da Huíla), Pauleta (Nacional de Benguela), Ladainha (Atlético do Cunene), Messi (Petro de Luanda), Luciana (Cab Star FC de Benguela), Zita (Glorioso FC da Huíla) and Ngonguinha (Army FC). The group is completed by strikers Cristina (1.o de Agosto) and Marceló (Guelson FC).
