Angola Commits to Enhancing Aviation for Regional Integration

Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port Affairs, Adilson Catala, reaffirmed on Wednesday Angola’s commitment to improving the aviation sector for regional integration.

Speaking at the Civil Aviation Forum, Catala considered the aviation sector an essential pillar for Angola’s economic development.

“Aviation is one of the most dynamic sectors of the global economy. It serves as a bridge for trade and tourism, and it brings people closer together,” the official said.

The Secretary of State emphasized that the future of the sector in Angola depends not only on modernizing infrastructure but also on training qualified personnel and fostering innovation among new generations.

Catala said that despite progress, the sector still faces the challenge of underrepresentation of women, particularly in technical and operational areas.

The underscored that the event reiterates the importance of equal opportunities, not only as a matter of social justice, but also as a means of increasing competitiveness and responding to technological transformations.

He mentioned that several initiatives promoted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have been identified as crucial tools to ensure the sector continues to attract new talent and maintain a balance between diversity and inclusion.

The National Civil Aviation Authority of Angola is promoting the forum in partnership with companies in the Angolan civil aviation sector. The goal is to ensure the future of civil aviation with a focus on inclusion and the new generation.
