Africa-Press – Angola. Egg production in Angola grew 16.4% during the 2025’s first half of 2025.

According to data sent on Tuesday by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MINAGRIF), Angola produced 1.133,547,436 eggs, registering increase of 159,474,500 compared to the previous 974,073,431.

In 2023, the country stopped importing eggs, as it has the capacity to achieve self-sufficiency and, with local production, aims to reduce dependence on the foreign market and strengthen domestic production.

The implementation of the measure has been gradual, with an initial ban on other animal products and an analysis of conditions for local production.

On the other hand, the note states that regarding meat, the country produced 113,188 tons in the last six months, a 1.6% (1,738) growth compared to the same period.

It explains that of this number, 43,186 tons (1.3%) were beef, 47,198 tons (1.7%) were goat meat, 261 tons (-0.4%) lamb meat, 4,127 tons (3.4%) pork meat and 18,416 tons (1.4%) of poultry meat. It points out that Angola produced 3.075,744 liters of milk, representing a 2.0% drop.
