Africa-Press – Angola. The achievement of peace has placed the country in a dynamic of unavoidable economic and social development, considered this Thursday, the governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala.
Speaking on the occasion of the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, under the motto “together for the inclusive growth of the country”, the government official said that the achievement of peace positioned “our people as protagonists of the great transformations that led us to the process of rehabilitation and construction of important infrastructures.
Despite notable progress in the economy, the governor continued, during his intervention in the auditorium of the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Moxico, he encouraged the need to join forces, with a view to diversifying the national economy and increasing domestic production and achieving self-sufficiency. to feed.
“The challenges of economic diversification are not limited to the Government, they concern all of us, families, companies, banks”, he recalled.
Ernesto Muangala highlighted some achievements that marked the 22 years of peace in the province of Moxico, such as the reconstruction and construction of schools, hospitals, communication routes, airports, railway lines, dams, housing, thermal and photovoltaic plants.
He reiterated the Executive’s desire to make efforts to improve the living conditions of the populations, calling for the preservation and consolidation of peace.
Angola celebrated, April 4th, 22 years since the achievement of Peace and National Reconciliation, when on a day like this in 2002, the military leaders of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and the former UNITA forces (FALA) initialed the Memorandum of Luena’s understanding, complementary to the Lusaka Agreements, putting an end to 27 years of armed conflict.
The city of Huambo hosted the central event of the anniversary celebrations.
