Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and the World Family Organization plan to sign a cooperation protocol, with a view to developing policies, programs and projects for the well-being of families.
The information was provided to the press Friday, by the president of the International Family Organization, Deise Kusztra, at the end of the hearing granted to her by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa.
He recalled that Angola is a branch of the World Family Organization and this year it was proclaimed, for the first time, “world capital of the family” until 2025, for its work in favor of a culture of peace and concern for the well-being of this social nucleus.
Regarding the protocol, he informed that the organization has a strategy with programs, policies and projects that it advocates and carries out, but it will be up to Angola to present its ideas and needs to be implemented together.
With the Vice-President, he mentioned having discussed the methodology of joint work to be carried out in the future, as well as defining the first actions and projects to be developed.
The occasion, according to Deise Kusztra, was also used to present a trophy, which should be delivered to the President of the Republic, who represents the family, around a pillar.
The same means the base of a society, decorated with the organization’s words and a house, with one side finished in different ways, demonstrating the complexity of forming a family and having a house to live in.
On the other hand, he said that climate change and food security also concern families, especially those in conflict zones.
He expressed his satisfaction with the dynamics demonstrated by the women in the Government, as well as by President João Lourenço.
He said he felt happy to have chosen Angola, and not New York (USA), to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family, because it allowed him to see what is being done at national and local level.
In turn, the Minister of Family and Promotion of Women, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, informed that a memorandum of understanding is being drawn up, within the scope of valuing the family and strengthening its skills, which has several activities.
He spoke about the Jango family programs, Happy Couples, Sexual and reproductive health, with emphasis on the issue of young people, teenagers and children (aged 12 and 13) who have become mothers with a huge burden and responsibility.
The idea is to analyze the World Organization’s proposal for the family and Angola’s needs, with an emphasis on tasks that fall within the National Development Plan.
“We are discussing the terms of the memorandum, but, a priori, the guarantee is to have institutional support from the various specialized agencies of the United Nations, as we know that many of them have provided financial support”, he stressed.
