Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, is in Lusaka, Zambia, representing the Head of State, João Lourenço, to participate, this Sunday, in the 4th Semiannual Coordination Meeting between the African Union and the Regional Economic Communities.

The meeting will, among other matters, assess the state of continental integration and coordinate the implementation of continental decisions, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent today.

This 4th Semi-Annual Meeting of the African Union will also review the Inter-REC Cooperation: Tripartite Free Trade Area between the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the East African Community (EAC) and the Community for the Development of Southern Africa (SADC).

The meeting began with words of circumstances by the Head of State of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, followed by the intervention of the President of the African Union Commission, Moussa Mahamat, President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the opening speech by the President of Senegal and Acting President of the African Union, Macky Sall.

The members of the Bureau of the Assembly of the African Union, namely Senegal, Libya, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in addition to the presidents of the Regional Economic Communities (REC’s) participate in this Semi-Annual Coordination Meeting.
