Africa-Press – Angola. Angola produced, on average, 1,049 million barrels of oil per day in the first quarter of this year, compared to the 1,098-million-barrel target set by the National Development Plan (NDP) for 2025.
According to the 2023-2027 NDP Balance Report – First Quarter of 2025, sent on Wednesday, 918 fuel stations are operational nationwide, compared to the target of 928 stations for 2025.
The document highlights that in the “Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas” subdomain, laboratory soil geochemistry analyses were conducted in the Kassanje Basin. This is an important sedimentary basin in the interior of the country that is being studied to assess its hydrocarbon potential, covering mainly the provinces of Cuanza-Norte, Malanje and Lunda-Norte.
It notes that during the same period, the Barra do Dande Ocean Terminal (TOBD) was inaugurated, with a storage capacity of 582,000 cubic meters (m3) of refined products, and the Gas Master Plan (PDG) was developed and approved.
In the gas sector, it highlights that an average production of liquefied natural gas, commonly known as LNG, was recorded at approximately 139,212,000 BOEPD (a measure used to convert natural gas into oil equivalent), compared to the target of 162,880 planned for the year.
Mineral Resources
In this sector, the report states that the extraction of approximately 3,349,000 carats of diamonds was secured, compared to the target of 15.1 million carats planned for this year. It aims to produce 570 fine ounces, compared to the planned target of five thousand 860 fine ounces for the year 2025, as well as 88,110 thousand tons of iron ore, compared to the target of 500,000 tons.
Finally, it states that 30,120,000 m3 of ornamental rocks, compared to the target of 110,900 m3 planned for the year, were placed on the market.
While overseen by the Ministry of Planning, this report aims to present a summary of the main results of the implementation of the 2023–2027 National Development Plan (NDP) during the first quarter of 2025, across various areas.
It is intended to provide the Executive with relevant information to support decision-making, enabling the adoption of corrective measures in the event of deviations from the established targets.
