Africa-Press – Angola. Angola registered, in the last 24 hours, one death, 218 new infections and the recovery of 697 patients, according to the newsletter of the National Directorate of Public Health (DNSP), distributed to the press yesterday.

The document states that the death occurred in Cuando Cubango and the victim was 31 years old. Regarding new infections, 132 were reported in Luanda, 45 in Cabinda, 29 in Cuanza-Sul, four in Namibe, three in Huambo and two in Cuando Cubango. The provinces of Cuanza-Norte, Huíla and Uíge each registered one case.

The infected are aged between 2 months and 71 years, with 168 males and 50 females.
With regard to recovered, 236 were reported in Luanda, 103 in Cuanza-Sul, 91 in Moxico, 68 in Cuanza-Norte, 59 in Lunda-Norte, 40 in Huíla, 26 in Cunene, 22 in Bié, 19 in Namibe , 15 in Bengo, 11 in Cuando Cubango and seven in Huambo.

With these data, the country has 97,812 positive cases, of which 1,892 have died, 90,853 have recovered and 5,067 are active. Of this number, three are in critical condition, 22 are severe, 37 are moderate, 46 have mild symptoms and 4,959 are asymptomatic.

In Covid-19 treatment centers across the country, 106 patients are hospitalized. 49 citizens are in institutional quarantine and 4,959 are in home isolation.

The Molecular Biology Laboratory processed, in the last 24 hours, 3,471 samples, of which 218 were positive. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, 1,368,254 samples have been processed, of which 97, 812 have tested positive.
