Africa-Press – Angola. Angola rose four places in the 2022 Press Freedom Index prepared by the International Organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
In the new ranking, Angola moves from position (103) to 99, out of a total of 180 countries, according to the RSF website.
On the RSF website, there is no indication of any denouncement, death, or registered detention of Angolan journalists.
Recently, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, stated that his Government has been one of the “greatest defenders of journalists”, as it “defends freedom of the press and freedom of expression”.
Angola improved, for the third consecutive year, in the Press Freedom Index that is compiled by the International Organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) annually. In 2017 the country ranked 125.
