Africa-Press – Angola. Angola is represented at Ceraweek 2023, in Houston, USA, one of the largest oil and gas fairs in the world, which runs from 6 to 10 March.

In this forum, Angola is represented by a delegation coordinated by the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), Paulino Jerónimo, the Executive Director, Natacha Massano, and other managers.

The conference, according to a note from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (MIREMPET), has the participation of more than seven thousand delegates from 80 countries.

The fair takes place at a time when the global energy industry is facing uncertainty and change, driven by the effects of the global pandemic, geopolitics and a war involving one of the world’s largest energy powers.

For José Barroso, “this is an opportunity for Angola to show what is being done, mainly in terms of oil and gas production and exploration, respecting climate issues, thus having the possibility of convincing financial institutions to participate in the effort to develop the Angolan oil industry.

Designing the world’s energy systems for a lower carbon future is one of the objectives of the meeting, in addition to the search for solutions, as the industry will navigate the turmoil and lead the transition to a sustainable, abundant and affordable future.

The opening ceremony, chaired by event coordinator Daniel Yergin, also featured speeches by Chevron’s CEO, Mike Worth, Baker Hughes director, Lorenzo Simonelli, Petronas, Tengku Muhammad Taufik, among others.

At CERAWeek 2023, key thought leaders, policy makers, executives from energy, finance, technology and industry will be involved in the conference for dialogue, knowledge sharing and connection building.
