Africa-Press – Angola. The National Elections Commission (CNE) defined this Tuesday a limit of 2,000 national observers for the August 24 elections, who will have up to 30 days before the elections to follow the necessary steps in this process.
“For the purposes of recognizing and accrediting National Election Observers, the National Electoral Commission sets a quota of up to 2,000 observers”, reads article 7 of the Regulation on the Recognition and Accreditation of Election Observers, published on Monday in Republic Diary.
In the text, quoted by Lusa, it is explained that by national observer is understood “the national organizations, individuals or entities, legally recognized to observe the electoral process”.
Signed by the president of the National Elections Commission, Manuel Pereira da Silva, the diploma adds that for accreditation it is necessary “to be a national or foreign citizen with experience, reputation and recognized prestige, to have been invited under the law, to be included in the quotas defined by the CNE, in accordance with the law, and accept the indicated observation area”.
