Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to the United States of America, Joaquim do Espírito Santo, was one of the guests and speaker at the seminar alluding to the celebrations of the Month of the African Diaspora, held Saturday in Virginia.
The event, organized by the Tidewater African Cultural Alliance in partnership with Old Dominion University, took place in Norfolk, Virginia, in the Arts & Letters building of Old Dominion University.
The seminar aimed to commemorate and enhance the African cultural heritage, taking into account the contribution of the ancestors and the African diaspora. Henceforth, the commemoration will take place annually in September, the month that represents the African diaspora in Virginia.
On the occasion, Joaquim do Espírito Santo highlighted the historical and cultural legacy in the deepening of knowledge and the importance of collective history and its dimensions.
