Africa-Press – Angola. A delegation of Angolan businesspeople is expected to participate in a conference on investment in both countries, to be held in Saudi Arabia in October this year, with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation ties.

The information was made public on Thursday, in Luanda, by the executive administrator of the Angola-Saudi Arabia Chamber of Commerce, Stela António, who added that the presence of Angolan businesspeople at the event will also serve to promote partnerships and explore new business and investment opportunities.

The official was speaking during the Chamber’s fourth anniversary celebrations and added that the Angolan businesspeople will participate in conferences and also visit areas of economic impact.

“An intense agenda is planned for Angolan businesspeople. It will be an opportune moment to discover new investment routes for both countries”, she said.

Angola’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Frederico Cardoso, said that the economic relationship between the two countries is based mainly on trade and revealed that studies are underway on the possibility of the Saudis also starting to purchase oil-by products from Angola.

Without giving figures, the diplomat said that trade between the two countries is below its potential and informed that “an accurate research is currently being conducted on the value of trade between the two states”.

During the ceremony, honourable mentions were awarded to the most outstanding Angolan entrepreneurs of the last 12 months.
