Africa-Press – Angola. A book entitled “Until the last breath for Angola and Africa”, which portrays the facets of Angolan diplomacy, experienced by ambassador Bernardo Dombele, was launched this Sunday in Luanda.

The book, which had the contribution of João Joaquim Mayamba, brother of the ambassador and also a diplomat, was published by Mayamba and has 11 copies with 262 pages, divided into six chapters, and is being sold for 2,000 kwanzas.

For the editor of the work, Arlindo Isabel, the work describes the historical path of the ambassador’s diplomatic activity, above all, in Central Africa, with emphasis on Gabon, where he gained the status of dean of ambassadors for 15 years.

He explained that in Côte d ́Idvoire, he made a diplomatic career in the period after French colonization, having stated, “It is a contribution to the history of diplomacy in the country that impacts both old and young”. He referred.

For politician Abel Chivucuvuco, the author is a reference in Angolan diplomacy and should be valued for his contribution to the country’s history.

General João Luís Neto “Xietu” wrote the preface to the book that tells the details of the great battles of those who witnessed and lived through the moments of anguish and uncertainty in the battles of Ntó, Luanda, Luena, Kifangondo, Ebo, Cangamba, among others.

Dombele Mbala Bernardo was born on February 2, 1935, in Maquela do Zombo, Uíge, he graduated in sociology of work at one of the universities of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in 1961.

As a young man, he escaped Portuguese colonial oppression, leaving the country with his parents. He settled in neighboring territory, the former Belgian colony of Congo (Mbanza Ngungu region), later in Léopoldville, yesterday Kinshasa.

He was part of a group of young Angolan exiles in Congo Léopoldville who, in the early 1960s, helped to set up the National Union of Angolan Workers (UNTA).

Dombele Bernardo was Angola’s chargé d’affaires in Congo Brazzaville and Angola’s ambassador in Gabon and Cote D’Ivoire.

He was also extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to several countries in Central and West Africa.

João Mavatica, the ambassador’s brother, was born on November 4, 1946, also in Maquela do Zombo, Uíge, he graduated from the school of journalism and information sciences in the former Czechoslovakia.
