A strategic staff training plan could be implemented by the Provincial Government of Moxico, with a view to training Human Resources, within the scope of the implementation of the new Political-Administrative Division (DPA), the local governor, Ernesto, announced this Friday Muangala.

The proposed law for the new DPA, initiated by the Executive, which is already in the National Assembly, provides for the creation of two more new provinces resulting from the division of Moxico and Cuando Cubango into two each, passing to Moxico, Kassai Zambeze, Cuando and Cubango.

Moxico will have its headquarters in Luena and Cassai Zambeze in Cazombo, while Cuando in Menongue and Cubango in Mavinga.

In addition to two provinces, if approved, Angola will have 325 municipalities and, in the first phase, compared to the current 164 municipalities.

According to the governor, who spoke during the inauguration ceremony for new members of his government, this process will require more staff and skills, which is why the Government is creating conditions for the elaboration of the Staff Training Strategy at all levels.

This process, according to the governor, will be preceded by the holding of the Provincial Staff Meeting, to analyze the development strategy of these regions.

On the occasion, the new head of secretary of the provincial government, director of the local Environment and Solid Waste Office, among others, were sworn in.

The province of Moxico, with nine municipalities, currently has one million, 24 thousand and 573 inhabitants in the current year (2024), according to the projection of the National Statistics Institute (INE).
