Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Daniel Domingos took second place (Friday), in Maputo, in the International Tennis Federation Tournament (ITF-J30), in singles, played from the 12th to the 16th of this month, on the club’s courts location of the sport, in Mozambique.

In the final, the player from the Kikuxi Villas Club (KVC) Tennis Academy, in Viana, Luanda, lost to Mozambican Edilson Rosa (seed n.3), by 6-2/4-1, this last set ” of the Angolan’s withdrawal.

Remember that Thursday’s semi-final game lasted four (4) hours, which was one of the reasons why Daniel was unable to complete the last set and was forced to withdraw.

As for the pairs, Angolan Daniel, in a pair with Mozambican Edilson Rosa, was the winner, defeating, by WO, the pair made up of Czech Filip Ladman and South African Dehan Deventer.

In relation to other Angolan tennis players, who also competed in the competition in the Mozambican capital, with the presence of players from various countries and continents, Justino Rodrigues lost, 6-2/6-0, in the quarter-finals, to the south- African Borys Alexandre (seed number 2).

Angolan Roberto Matondo was defeated, in the second round, 6-0/6-4, by the North American Muaz Malik, while Emerson Pedro lost, in the second round, against Englishman Harry Cornhill, 6-0/2- 6/6-3, and Salvador Silva didn’t make it past the first round, having lost, 6-0/6-1, to South African Borys Alexandre (seed no.2).

In the initial phase of this event, also called ITF World Tennis Tour J30 Maputo, which serves as the players’ score in the international ranking, there were matches in the women’s sector, in which the Angolan representatives did not have positive results.

In addition to KVC, players from the Jaquisa de Luanda team also represented the country.
