Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan telecommunications market is favorable to receive new investments and diversify services in this sector in the country, said this Wednesday, in Luanda, the director of the corporate area of the mobile telephone operator Africell, Sérgio Possevelo.
Speaking to the press, on the occasion of the launch of the “Chief Africell Plan”, the source maintained that the telecommunications sector in Angola is attractive to investors, as a result of the high level of demand for these services throughout the national territory.
The person in charge was satisfied with the company’s performance in the Angolan market, where it has been operating since April 7, 2022, and expects to increasingly boost the sector, with a view to developing new business.
In two years in Angola, the country’s fourth mobile telephone operator has 500 thousand customers, which represents a market share of around 30 percent, being present, albeit partially, in Luanda, Huíla, Benguela and Cuanza- South, in an investment of more than 100 million dollars.
Recently, Africell planned to expand its services throughout the national territory, by 2025, ensuring that the provinces of Huambo, Cabinda, Zaire, Malanje and Cunene will be the operator’s next destinations.
Africell Boss Plan facilitates companies
According to the director of Africell’s corporate area, the Africell Boss Plan is a prepaid product, designed to facilitate micro, small and medium-sized companies in managing monthly telecommunications costs.
He added that the plan allows for centralized management and the transfer or distribution of balances between the main number and the other numbers of the same company or organization.
The process, he added, makes it easier for companies to have greater control, flexibility, efficiency and transparency with their customers, overcoming the existing gap in the dynamization of corporate plans.
Alongside this project, this Wednesday, the operator also launched the “Community Plan”, which aims to meet the needs of churches, universities and taxi drivers in the field of communication between their members.
In addition to these plans, Africell became the first operator to provide 5G services in Angola, also featuring a mobile money platform called Afrimoney, which aims to reinforce financial inclusion and connect Angolans to the formal economy.
In addition to Angola, the North American operator also provides mobile network coverage and technological services to more than 16 million subscribers in sub-Saharan Africa, with its presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Sierra Leone and Gambia.
Headquartered in London, Africell employs, directly and indirectly, more than 10 thousand people in the countries in which it operates.
