Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, presented Friday in Vietnam the main needs and investment opportunities existing in Angola, highlighting the areas of workforce training, production of agricultural equipment, large electric trucks, tires and spare parts.
These needs were presented during an investment attraction meeting with representatives of Vietnamese companies linked to the production of animal feed, advanced irrigation systems, agricultural mechanization and technological development.
On the occasion, the Angolan official also pointed to the areas of rice, cassava, coffee, livestock, poultry and forestry production as sectors with investment opportunities, according to a press release.
In turn, Vietnamese businesspeople expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Angola through the implementation of joint projects, technology transfer, and human resource development, and were invited by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry to undertake prospecting missions to the country.
Continuing the visit, the Angolan delegation, headed by Isaac dos Anjos, recently met with officials from the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences, where issues related to the production of forest seeds and seedlings, sustainable management of natural resources, biodiversity conservation, and technology transfer were discussed.
At the meeting, the minister requested strengthened cooperation through the granting of scholarships and technical training for Angolan personnel in the areas of forestry, environmental management, and renewable energies.
The Vietnamese side expressed its willingness to expand technical training and scientific exchange programs with Angola.
The delegation also met with the vice-president of the People’s Committee of Ninh Binh province, Trần Anh Dũng, where the parties analyzed the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural and forestry sectors, with a special focus on human resource training and the transfer of technical knowledge.
During the trip, the minister also met with the chairman of the board of directors of the Xuan Thien group, Nguyễn Văn Thiện, who presented the development status of the agricultural projects currently being implemented in Angola.
The Angolan official, who was accompanied by the Secretary to the President of the Republic for the productive sector, João Nkosi, highlighted the positive impact of these investments on promoting economic growth, generating employment and improving the living conditions of the population.
According to the note, the meetings held confirm the excellent state of cooperation relations between Angola and Vietnam and reinforce the mutual commitment to deepen strategic partnerships aimed at sustainable development, modernization of the agricultural and forestry sector and the promotion of food security.
