On Monday, the Angolan pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 in Japan entertained attendees with performances to the vibrant sound of drumming and traditional songs, attracting numerous visitors. Expo Osaka 2025 opened its doors to the public on Saturday, in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako de Fumihito and 1,300 representatives from participating nations.
The Expo is one of the most important international events dedicated to the debate on the future of humanity.
The event brings together hundreds of countries and international organizations, which over the course of six months will present innovative proposals on healthy living, social cohesion, sustainability and humanized technology.
This year’s global theme is “Designing the Society of the Future for Our Lives”.
The general coordination of national participation is in the hands of the commissioner-general of the Angolan pavilion, Albina Assis Africano, and the delegation also includes the deputy commissioner, Neuza Dias dos Santos, and the Angolan ambassador to Japan, Teodolinda Coelho.Reaffirming its place on the stage of nations committed to progress, Angola is participating in this event with a pavilion with a strong identity and a humanist vocation, guided by the subtheme “Saving Lives” and the slogan “Educating for Health”.
A statement highlights the strategic importance of Angola’s participation in the words of President João Lourenço: “Angola’s presence at Expo 2025 Osaka symbolises our commitment to contributing to a more balanced and healthy global society. With the theme ‘Saving Lives’, we aim to place health education at the centre of collective action, promoting conscious and resilient citizenship.”
The statement states that Angola’s participation promises to be a highlight at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Japan, inviting visitors to discover a country of contrasts and riches, in a context of attracting investment, strengthening multilateral partnerships and valuing the vast human heritage.
The event in Japan will feature cultural exhibitions, interactive experiences, themed forums, shows and moments of sharing that reflect the diversity and vitality of Angolan society.
In this sense, the Expo is a platform where the country asserts itself as an agent of change, looking to the future with responsibility and ambition.
