Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço on Monday sent a message of congratulations to his DRC counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi, on the occasion of the celebration of the country’s National Independence Day, marked on June 30.
In the message, the Angolan Head of State expresses, on behalf of the Executive and on his own, wishes for prosperity and stability for the Congolese nation, underlining the desire that the date marks the beginning of a new stage in the DRC journey, based on peace, reconciliation and social development.
“I would like to express my hope that, by celebrating this special day, the Democratic Republic of Congo will be able to open a new page in your difficult journey, where it will be possible to create the necessary conditions to allow a good coexistence among all, in a true spirit of peace and national reconciliation, for the benefit of the development and social progress of the Congolese nation”, refers to the message.
João Lourenço also highlighted the historical ties of friendship and consanguinity between the two countries, reaffirming Angola”s commitment to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the most diverse fields.
