Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan president João Lourenço sent on Thursday a congratulatory message to Sanae Takaichi on her recent re-election as prime minister of Japan.
In the message, João Lourenço expressed his belief that her victory at the polls reflects the Japanese people’s renewed confidence in her leadership. As Prime Minister, she will be able to continue implementing policies that will consolidate Japan’s position as a global industrial, technological and economic power.
The Angolan Head of State also expressed his desire for the newly elected Prime Minister to visit Angola as soon as possible, in order to maintain the fruitful dialogue between the two countries.
Angola and Japan established diplomatic relations in September 1976. These relations are currently strengthening, with a focus on economic and technical cooperation, particularly with regard to infrastructure development in the areas of energy, agriculture, health and demining.
Japan supports Angola’s economic diversification, notably through energy transmission agreements in the south and partnerships in mineral resources.
