Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Júnior, stated on Tuesday in Lobito city, that some Angolan products are becoming increasingly competitive in the international market.
The governor made the statement while overseeing the export of the first container of organic sea salt from the Calombolo saltworks in the Baía Farta municipality to São Tomé and Príncipe.
Júnior highlighted that access to the international market is only possible when products meet the “standard” quality model.
“When they are accepted in the international market, it is very good. We recently had the opportunity to do something similar with avocado exports, and now we are exporting salt through the Lobito Corridor,” he recalled.
According to the governor, as production increases, more jobs will be created, salaries will improve, and these changes will positively impact the lives of the people in the province of Benguela and along the corridor.
Benguela is a province with vast natural resources, including fishing (both artisanal and industrial), the salt industry, agriculture (corn, beans, bananas, coffee, and horticulture), livestock (cattle, goats, etc.), mineral resources (copper, manganese, and ornamental rocks), forests, and water resources (such as the Cubal, Catumbela, and Cavaco rivers).
It also has enormous tourism potential, with beautiful beaches and natural landscapes.
