Angolan Record Producers Release "Roots" in Portugal

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan music producers Satélite and Gálio, recently released in Portugal the album entitled “Raízes” (Roots), that celebrates ancestry and innovation in Afro-electronic music.

According to a press release on Saturday, the aforementioned album closes the musical trilogy started with the albums “Horizonte” and “Caminho”, both released in 2024.

Composed of 28 tracks, Raízes proposes a sound journey between African ancestry and digital contemporaneity, reaffirming the protagonism of artists in the international Afro House scene.

The album includes collaborations with leading names such as Boddhi Satva (Central African Republic), Kaysha (France/Congo), Afro Wav (Zimbabwe), Sokhana (South Africa) and Jéssica Gaspar (Brazil), the latter artist known for her black activism and poetic sound.

The new work is described by the authors as a synthesis between identity and evolution. “We have reached the root of what we are, musically and culturally,” the note emphasizes.

According to DJ Satélite, this album is about memory, heritage and the future of Afro music.

A pioneering figure in Kuduro and Afro House, DJ Satélite became known for producing historic albums such as Estado Maior do Kuduro (Os Lambas) and Batida Única (Bruno M), in addition to having his music recommended by international platforms such as Boiler Room.

DJ Gálio, based in Portugal, has been present at international festivals and collaborations, consolidating a career that crosses urban and electronic sounds with deep African roots.
