Africa-Press – Angola. Representatives of the Angolan community living in Germany presented several concerns in Berlin on Tuesday during a meeting with the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Domingos Vieira Lopes.A note sent, during the meeting, held at the Angolan Embassy, the minister began by presenting an overview of the Government’s actions aimed at the Angolan diaspora, aiming at their well-being, social, economic and political development.

The Secretary of State took note of the community’s numerous concerns and expectations, among which the relative slowness in issuing passports and other personal documents stands out.

One of the main concerns of Angolan communities in Germany is access to consular services, for which they have to travel long distances, at high costs, following the closure of the Angolan Consulate General in Frankfurt. Around 80 percent of the Angolan community lives in this area in southern Germany, a situation for which the Angolan Government is finding the best ways to resolve, according to the Secretary of State for Communities.

The initiative, which pleased the community, took place as part of the tour that the government official is undertaking through some European capitals, to deal with issues relating to international cooperation and Angolan communities abroad.
