Africa-Press – Angola. The Consul General of Angola in Ponta Negra urged compatriots residing in that region of the Republic of Congo to join en masse in the process of updating the Official Electoral Register.

Samuel Andrade da Cunha made this appeal at a meeting with the Angolan community residing in Ponta Negra, on Monday, and which served to raise awareness of all citizens about the importance of updating data and the need to participate in this civic right.

During the activity, which took place at the Consulate General’s premises, the diplomat clarified the doubts raised by community members regarding the requirements to be observed in this completely free process.

The opportunity also served for Samuel Cunha to explain the appropriate procedures from the presentation of the receipt or Identity Card (valid or expired) to the transcription of the Birth Certificate, issued by the Congolese authorities.

The Official Electoral Registration in Ponta Negra began on the 9th of February, with 353 citizens having already been registered.
