Luanda – The first day of the Angola-Angotic 2023 Information and Communication Technologies Forum was marked by the opening speech by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
One of the highlights of the president’s speech was the announcement of the installation, in the country, of a cybersecurity academy, which aims to provide a secure and robust telecommunications and information technology service, in defense of users, while creating the regulatory conditions in the use of telecommunications networks.
Next, João Lourenço visited the exhibition pavilion, where several companies offer a range of technological products and services in telecommunications, business management solutions, using cybernetic intelligence.
In turn, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, focused on the need for information technologies to be made available to communities and contribute to the development of the country, demonstrating the need for the extension of technological services throughout the territory national, connecting the country to the world.
The moment, in this first one, was still marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the exchange of experience and training of staff in the area of information and communication technologies, between Angola and the Republic of Zambia.
With regard to cybersecurity, a panel was also presented, where specialist Marcelo Lau highlighted the training of national staff in technology and information security that will allow the creation of a strong team to prevent and identify technological accidents.
Still in the calculation of the lectures, the implementation of the technology industry 5.0 was also addressed, in the sense of providing greater support of robotics in the works carried out by the human being.
Another moment of the day was marked by the dissertation by journalist Herculano Coroado, who defended the need to implement digital rights management, as a way of protecting authors and promoting income, when he spoke about “Content and Media”.
The event, taking place from the 12th to the 14th of June, brings together more than 60 companies and 21 countries, with speakers and moderators from Japan, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Nigeria, Lesotho, South Africa, the United States of America, Canada, Spain , Serbia, Uganda, France, Namibia, Portugal, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Sweden, Argentina, Ethiopia, Malawi and São Tomé.
ANGOTIC 2023 is a global event on information and communication technologies, held and promoted by the Government of Angola, through the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
It aims to promote debate around current, global and future issues of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), knowledge sharing and facilitating networking for government entities, exhibitors, specialists, presenting innovations, as well as trends in the sector.
