Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) in the province of Bié, António Armando, was re-elected, in the city of Cuito, with 77 votes, for a second five-year term.
António Armando beat competitors Mateus Júlio, who obtained 50 votes, and António Quintas, who obtained 18, in an event in which 148 delegates from the nine municipalities of Bié participated.
30 delegates were also elected for the PRS congress, to be held in Luanda, April 2nd to 4th this year.
On the occasion, the first secretary of the PRS re-elected in Bié, António Armando, defined as a priority working in partnership with the Government, in order to help solve the problems that populations face in various socioeconomic areas.
He also added that he is committed to improving the expansion of cadre training, as well as intensifying the mobilization of more members for the Party, in order to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. Antonio
Armando reiterated, on the other hand, maintaining unity and cohesion within the political organization as a focus, in order to allow the PRS to continue to be the third political force in this part of the country.
PRS was founded in 1992 by Eduardo Kwangana, the organization’s first president. Benedito Daniel currently presides over the party.
