Africa-Press – Angola. Within the framework of foreign policy, the Council of Ministers (CM) approved, this Wednesday, several cooperation instruments, including the Accession Agreement to the Smart Africa Alliance.

The document approved in a session led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, aims to establish a single digital market in Africa.

The measure is intended to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge between countries in the region, which are important for the development of the sector, according to the statement distributed to the press at the end of the session.

The meeting endorsed the Agreement between the Government of Angola and Zambia on the Creation of a Binational Commission, with a view to promoting and strengthening cooperation in different areas of government, as well as coordinating initiatives in this regard and facilitating contracting between the public and private to the parties.

The Agreement between the Government of Angola and India on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Service or Official Passports was approved.

This legal instrument will facilitate the entry and permanence of nationals in the territory of each party without a visa requirement, thus strengthening the existing friendship and cooperation relations.

The body also approved the Agreement between Angola and Gabon on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports, a legal instrument that aims to establish the general terms and conditions for visa exemption.

The measure will allow the mobility of nationals of both countries, holders of Diplomatic and Service passports, based on the principles of equality and reciprocity.

Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Policy

The members of the Council of Ministers approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Angola and of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Kingdom of Spain.

The document aims to promote institutional cooperation in terms of industrial policy, through the exchange of information and knowledge, materialized through programs, projects and concrete actions identified by the signatories.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Trade, Investment and Industrial Promotion between Angola and Namibia was also approved.

The document aims to promote institutional cooperation in the areas of trade in goods, services, investment and, particularly, in matters of industrial policy, through the exchange of information and knowledge, materialized through programmes, projects and concrete actions identified and approved by the parties.

The Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Political Consultation Mechanisms between the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Gabonese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also endorsed.

The intention is to establish political consultation mechanisms on matters relating to the relations between the parties, as well as the exchange of opinions on matters of mutual interest at international and regional level, Angola/Gabon.

Bornito de Sousa Foundation

The Council of Ministers appreciated the Presidential Order that recognizes the Legal Personality of the Bornito de Sousa Foundation, a non-profit legal person governed by private law.

The social object of the aforementioned foundation is to support people, projects and communities in general, through initiatives of a philanthropic nature, in the fields of education, youth and digital inclusion, local development and social inclusion, environmental sustainability, African and Afro-descendant pride, and citizenship, leadership and good governance.
