Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Luanda Provincial Carnival Association (APROCAL), Victor Nataniel Narciso, praised this Saturday, in the municipality of Cazenga, the preservation of the dances practiced in the country’s capital, by carnival groups.
According to Victor Nataniel Narciso, who gave this praise in “Muzongue do Carnaval”, despite the various evolutions, within the principle of modernization and development, traditional traits in the way of dancing styles such as semba and kazukuta are present, thus respecting carnival identity.
Regarding songs, he said that carnival groups bring new messages to the new Marginal de Luanda, in line with current affairs.
At the Muzongue do Carnaval, held at the Cazenga Historic Landmark, celebrating 23 years of APROCAL, the president of the association announced the holding of cultural workshops as part of the next edition of Entrudo in Luanda.
Luanda Provincial Carnival Association was created with the aim of helping to organize the “people’s party” in the capital, as well as serving as a link between the Ministry of Culture and carnival groups.
