Africa-Press – Angola. The Commander of the National Army of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General João Serafim Kiteculo, urged the branch’s personnel to increase their readiness to face the challenges of the future.
General João Kiteculo was speaking Thursday, to the forces on parade on the 10th. Motorized Infantry Brigade in the town of Ntó, South of Cabinda, where he noted that this mission must be permanently taken into account with a view to guaranteeing national security and sovereignly constituted institutions.
For the year 2024, all efforts will be directed towards increasing the Army’s capacity and readiness, in order to participate with dignity in the nation’s military defense, thus contributing to collaboration with other branches such as the National Air Force and the Navy. The general officer, who has been in Cabinda since Wednesday (27), also presided over the year-end celebration event that took place at the General Staff Command of the Cabinda Military region, where he highlighted the work carried out by that branch of the FAA, at the country level.
To this end, he stressed that the Army will continue to participate in national reconstruction tasks, in support of government actions in the restoration and construction of bridges, roads, railways, environmental protection and others, as well as the rehabilitation and construction of barracks and equipping the troops with essential resources.
He also mentioned that the Army will continue to participate in supporting the population in the event of natural and other social calamities, collaborate in exchange actions, military technical operations with the Armies of neighboring countries, DRC and RC, as well as continue to fight in the among the troops, illiteracy, alcoholism and all anti-civic behavior, likely to tarnish the public image of the Army.
Raise the state of military discipline and encourage in troops a sense of responsibility, loyalty, honor, esprit de corps and mission, ensure better medical and medication assistance for troops and their families, promote awareness campaigns against HIV-AIDS, etc. sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis, malaria, as well as road accidents, which have been one of the main causes of employee mortality, are included in the ongoing actions and perspectives for the year 2024.
Speaking also of actions for the year 2024, he said that the Army command management will continue to work on improving the functioning of troop commands, arms and service bodies and all systems related to the use of troops for any mission in peacetime or campaign, the implementation of the most appropriate system in combative patriotic educational preparation for the year 2024, aiming to correspond with current requirements, improve the registration system, control, personnel management, technical means and all material made available of the branch.
For the Army commander, the implementation of this set of actions constitutes a serious challenge for everyone, for the year 2024, to increase dynamism, roll up our sleeves, in order to gather efforts, the firm determination so that the objectives set are successfully completed and prospects for the coming year will be greater in their materialization.
“Despite still being a growing army, we must continue to demonstrate that we are cohesive, strong, vigilant, patriotic and disciplined”, he concluded.
In Cabinda, the Army commander traveled, on Wednesday, to the interior municipalities, Buco.Zau and Belize, where he noted the satisfactory level of readiness and, equally, he visited the 10th Motorized Infantry Brigade and downloaded instructions on permanent readiness to guarantee political-military stability, effective peace and border security.
