Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan National Assembly delegation arrived this Thursday in Manamá, capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to participate, from the 11th to the 15th of this month, in the 146th General Assembly of the Inter Union -parliamentary (UIP).

The delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, is made up of the deputies Idalina Valente, Arlete Chimbinda, Albertina Felisberto, João Gaspar, Kilamba Van-Dúnem and the secretary general of the National Assembly, Pedro Agostinho de Néri.

Angola will receive, during the event, the testimony of this Asian country for the holding of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union to be organized by the Angolan Parliament in October, in Luanda.

The Angolan parliament will promote the event in question at Exhibition World Bahrain, in Manamá.

During the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, parliamentarians will analyze the organization’s strategies on climate change, accountability at all levels, as well as the transformation of speeches into actions to combat climate change.

The approach also includes strengthening climate legislation to reduce emissions and support for a clean energy transition.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union is made up of 178 national parliaments and 12 regional assemblies. It is currently the main parliamentary interlocutor of the United Nations.
