Africa-Press – Angola. The director of Communication and Brand Management at Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI), Fábio Correia, called in Luanda, for the need to use electronic payment methods to reduce flooding at branches.
Speaking to the press, following the report of complaints presented to the National Bank of Angola in the Third Quarter of this year, he highlighted that the bank wants to continue introducing automatic payment mechanisms to serve its more than 2.5 million customers.
As for complaints, he said, the bank received 45 (0.001% less of the customer served in the period) in the third quarter, compared to 34 in the second quarter.
Fábio Correia said that to serve the considerable number of customers, taking into account the Angolan population, which is currently over 32 million inhabitants and which is growing at a rate of 3% per year, “we have to have automatic solutions”, to achieve serve all customers at acceptable prices, making it necessary to use digital ones.
He explained that BAI has approximately 600 ATMs in the bank’s branches and in service centers across the country.
“Our strategy, over the next ten years, will involve installing machines, because 90% of the customers who come to us, we serve an average of 3 million and 500 thousand people in a three-month period”, he said.
He added that the bank has been increasing its capacity, as it is registering 10 thousand new customers per week, registering 200 thousand customers in 66 days.
He added that the bank has six main channels for its customers nationwide, starting with the network of 157 branches, BAI direct (900 thousand customers), issuing multicaixa cards (one million and 700 until June), with ATM centers , helpline 924 100 100, email [email protected] and customer provider.
